An Open Letter and Invitation To:
California Christian Pastors and Leaders
For Immediate Release: Sent via e-mail to:
Saturday, October 11, 2008
Dear Christian Pastor or Leader:
We at Citizens For A Better America (R) (CFABA.ORG) are sending this Open Letter to Christian Pastors and Leaders in the state of California with public e-mail addresses on public websites. If you have received this Open Letter by mistake, my
apologies.
While the sending of this open letter is completely compliant with the CAN-SPAM ACT of 2003, if you are unhappy you received this e-mail please put remove in the subject line and reply to this e-mail and we will remove you from our list and confirm we
have done so by e-mail.
I am writing you about a solemn issue that I believe we as Christian Leaders need to address.
It is my hope, desire, and goal to both educate you as well as encourage you to do all you can to protect marriage between one man and one woman.
If you believe with me that homosexual marriage is not supported by the Word of God, the Holy Bible, then please continue to read this letter.
Please allow me to briefly introduce myself. My name is Robert Colaco. I am the Volunteer National Chairman and Founder of Citizens For A Better America (R) (CFABA.ORG). I founded Citizens For A Better America (R) (CFABA.ORG) on October 15, 1992
for the primary purpose of electing morality and values based candidates to public office from the very lowest to the highest political positions all over the United States of America.
Ever since our founding we have taken positions on ballot measures in California as well as across the United States of America.
======
I received via regular mail a letter from California State Senator Dennis Hollingsworth and Official Proponent of proposition 8 (eight) in which he stated the following in his September 23, 2008 letter:
"In 2000, Californians voted to reaffirm traditional marriage by 61%. (But since it was not put in the state constitution, it was struck down by hostile judges. Proposition 8, however, would protect the traditional definition of marriage in the state
constitution.)
Since then, we have been constantly bombarded with propaganda designed to unravel the social fabric of traditional marriage. Even as recent as this summer, when the four activist judges of the Supreme Court declared a new "right" to same-sex marriage,
a majority of voters still supported limiting marriage to a man and a woman.
But five weeks ago a shadowy, liberal nonprofit corporation spent over $5 million to begin running television commercials in support of approving same-sex "marriage."
Perhaps you have seen their ad, which asks, "What if you couldn't marry the person you love?" If you have, you know it deceptively taps into positive feelings about traditional marriage to persuade voters to support homosexual marriage as well.
These past five weeks of gay marriage TV ads have had a big impact. In fact, the internal polls of both our opponents and the Yes on 8 campaign show that the lead we once had among voters for Proposition 8 has slipped --- the race is now too close to
call."

You might be asking yourself what you can do to help win proposition 8 in the November 4, 2008 election. Here are steps you can take:
01. Please seriously consider forwarding this open letter to everyone on your e-mail list.
02. Please seriously consider visiting our web site dedicated to this project by clicking on the following link: http://protectmarriage.info/
03. Please seriously consider discussing this issue with everyone that you know in California. While you're doing so, please confirm that they have registered to vote in the November 4, 2008, election. Those that are not registered to vote can do
so no later than 15 days before the election which is Monday, October 20, 2008. Monday, October 20, 2008 is the last day that voter registration cards must be postmarked. Please click on the following link: http://www.sos.ca.gov/elections/elections_vr.htm
04. Please seriously consider talking about homosexual marriage and how it is not supported by the Word of God, the Holy Bible.
05. Please seriously consider helping us to counteract the opposition's message. You can do so by sending a contribution of $99.00, without us having to list your identity with California's fair political practices commission.
If you just cannot afford to send as a contribution of $99.00, then please send us $8 to support 8. Then, tell 8 friends to vote "YES on 8", and ask them to tell 8 more friends.
